Thank You Pele Ngulakwey

Thank You Pele Ngulakwey

THANK YOU PELE NGULAKWEY!

You can’t talk about Forest defenders in the last 5 years and not mention Pele ‘Papa’ Ngulakwey.

The Congolese defender joined the team in 2017 and though no longer with the club, Pele’s contributions to Forest will never be forgotten.

One of his most memorable performance in the colours of Forest was in the mighty Ndola derby against sworn rivals Zesco United, in which he scored the solitary goal which gave Forest the city’s bragging rights despite the team playing with nine men after keeper Mathias Kigonya and Cedric Djeugouè both saw red.

His presence at the heart of defence coupled with his experience and maturity meant that the team often relied on him to form a solid base in front of the goalkeeper.
It was not surprising that with him alongside other defenders marshalling the defence during the 2019/20 season Forest attained qualification to the only cup competition in Zambia and CAF Champions League.

The former Mufulira Wanderers player was among the defenders that saw to it that Forest kept a clean sheet in the CAF Champions League preliminary round against AS Bouenguid of Gabon at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium giving them hope to change the narrative in the return leg.

From us at Forest we can only say thank you Papa for sharing memorable moments with us and being part of our history, we shall never forget you and your contribution to the club.

All the best in the Future Papa!
