IT’S TIME FOR THE ABSA CHAMPS TO REST

Forest Rangers Football Club yesterday held their last training session at Dola Hill Stadium before they broke off for four-weeks rest.

Coach Ian Bakala is set to regroup with his team on the 10th July, 2023, in preparation for a very competitive 2023/24 season.

The ABSA Cup Champions were addressed by the club Chairman before they disband. In the meeting, he congratulated the boys for achieving one of their targets this past season .

“Congratulations once again on emerging victorious in the just ended ABSA CUP in Lusaka, I kept emphasizing on silverware and you delivered and made all of us proud.

As you break off, please take care of yourselves and get enough rest because we only managed to achieve one of our targets this season but next season we are going for the remaining two, The Title and Continental football as well as defending the cup.

Your performance in the Cup just showed us you are capable of doing it and you will.”

In closing the A license student, Coach Ian advised the boys to make their families happy during the break.

“Enjoy your holiday and make your families happy during this period because that’s where your blessings come from.

Also take care of your bodies and get enough rest. We want you all back in good health. ” said Coach Bakala.

The 2023/24 MTN Super League season is expected to commence in August, the dates are yet to be confirmed by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).

Forest Rangers end the 2022/23 season with the following stats:
-Finished eighth on the log
-Amassing 48 points after 34 games
-Won 11
-Drew 15
-Lost 8
-Scoring 30 goals
-Conceding 24 goals.
