08 Jul FOREST RANGERS’ SECOND CHARITY SHIELD.
Zambian breweries in partnership with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ)Β launched the 2023 edition of the Samuel Zoom Ndhlovu Charity Shield yesterday at Waterfalls Mall in Lusaka.
This marks their second year as sponsors, with a contribution of over K500,000 at this years Edition.
The Carling Black Label – Samuel Zoom’ Ndlovu Charity Shield game is an annual friendly match that brings together winners of the MTN Super League and the ABSA Cup to compete for both glory and Charity.
This year, MTN Super League winners Power Dynamos will face ABSA CUP winners Forest Rangers on 12th August, 2023 in a thrilling match.
This will be the second time Forest Rangers will be participating in the cup. Their first appearance was in 2005 after they won the Coca Cola cup. They faced league champions Zanaco FC and lost by a goal to nil. On the other hand, Power Dynamos have won it six times.
This year’s shield, will come with a twist, the fans will have the power to “Change the Game” by selecting and Voting for the starting 11 players for each team.
Through ‘#Change the Game” initiative, soccer fans will cast their votes online to choose their starting XI, for the thrilling match via http://Carlingshieldcup.com.
The prestigious match is a curtain raiser for the MTN Super League season which is set to begin on 19thΒ August,Β 2023.
