In 1975, Forest Rangers Football Club started as a Community Football Team at Dola Hill Forest Station in Ndola, and joined the Ndola District Amateur League in 1976.
After a period of 3 years, the club was promoted to Division 3 under the Copperbelt Amateur League, up to the end of the 1988 soccer season. The club played Division 1 football from 1989 to 1991.
During the 1991 soccer season, the club finished as runners up in the independence Cup Competition. At the end of the same season, the club won promotion to the Super League Division. For the last 5 seasons, the club has maintained a reputation as one of the top 10 teams in the Zambia Super League.
In 2019, Forest Rangers were runner’s up in the Copperbelt Investment Expo football tournament and during the 2019/20 Season Forest Rangers qualified for the ABSA CUP for the first time, and in the same season finished 2nd in the MTN/FAZ Super League earning a place in the CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE for the first time.
