FOREST FORCED TO SETTLE FOR A ONE-ALL DRAW

FOREST FORCED TO SETTLE FOR A ONE-ALL DRAW

Forest Rangers was forced to settle for a one all-draw in the dying minutes of their match against  the defending champions Red Arrows.

A match in which they would have looked like the underdogs facing the current log leaders and charity shield winners at Nkoloma Stadium, Malembe put up a spirited fight ensuring they did not allow Arrows to find the back of their net in the first half.

In the 66th minute of the second half, a ball went from South African Mpho Mathekgane to Nigerian  Quadri Kola who crossed it into the box for Libamba, who made his perfect tap in look easy, giving Forest the lead and breaking the deadlock.

In the 80th minute, midfielder Robson Phiri got his second yellow of the game, which had him sent off for an early shower, Leaving Forest Down to 10 men.

Unfortunately, in the 90th minute our defense was caught off guard, when veteran James Chamanga who came on as a substitute, was left unmarked and an easy ball was channeled his way, he made a run into the box beating Goalkeeper Allan Chibwe to give Red Arrows the equalizer.

This point away from home will see Forest Rangers stuck on 4th position but with a point higher than last week, 18 points.

Our next fixture will be home at Trade Fair Grounds against Nkwazi FC.
