28 Apr FOREST IN SEARCH FOR THEIR FIRST VICTORY SINCE 2017
The fight to what seems to be the only continental slot left continues as teams enter week-31 tomorrow with Forest Rangers taking on Choma side, Green Eagles FC.
With four games to go, Forest Rangers sit 4th on the log with 46 points and a goal difference of nine, jointly tied with Napsa Stars who have had a good run in their last six matches, occupying the 3rd position with a superior goal difference.
Buffaloes are second with 48 points and log leaders Power Dynamos are enjoying an eight point lead at the summit.
Tomorrow’s opponents Green Eagles are right behind Malembe with 45 points. In their last 16 meetings with Forest, Eagles have lost six times, Drawn two and record eight victories, which includes the first round at Trade Fair Grounds in Ndola on the 20th November, 2022, which was Malembe’s first home loss of the Season.
With this in mind, Assistant coach Kennedy Kashobondo said they have prepared the team very well and Saturday’s game will be an interesting one.
“We know Green Eagles has been good at home in the past but that doesn’t matter, what is important is this preparation and mental aspect of the players, of which we have done very well, this will make for an interesting fixture tomorrow.
Should we win and other teams drop points, we have the opportunity to go second which is what we are fighting for.”
Forest Rangers will face Green Eagles tomorrow in Choma at independence stadium at 15:00hrs targeting to win their first fixture away to Eagles since 2017.
