05 Jan MORO AMENU RETURNS
Forest Rangers is one club that makes people feel at home and a number of players who have easily found their way back home can attest to this.
From the days of Gift Sakuwaha, to Dieugo Apanane, Luarent Muma, Quadri Kola and now Moro Amenu.
After successful negotiations with Lumwana Radiants, Forest is pleased to announce the re-signing of striker Moro Amenu.
The Ghanian joined Lumwana after the expiry of his two-year contract just before the start of the 2022/23 season.
However, barely five months after departing, the striker has made a sensational return to Fole Malembe and has since penned another two year deal.
Moro initially joined Forest on the 31st January 2020 from KYSA .
He scored five goals and notched up three assists during his previous stint at the club.
The dreadlocked forward was part of the history making squad that finished second in the Super League in 2019/2020.
That second-placed finish was enough to qualify Forest to another milestone of participating in the CAF Champions League for the first in the history of the club and the ABSA CUP .
Though he may not have contributed to the team qualifying to this year’s ABSA Cup he will be looking to ensure the team goes all the way to the final and hopefully brings the trophy home.
Moro’s return is a boost to coach Ian Bakala’s striking force which has only managed to score a total of 12 goals in the first round.
Of the 12 goals, summer signing Moyela Libamba has contributed six with Thomas Chideu and Clifford Mulenga have two apiece while defenders Chitoshi Chinga and Gerald Simusokwe have found the target once each.
With arrival of Moro, the Bakala drilled side which has managed to keep 11 cleansheets so far, will be seeking to maintain and improve on their performance from the first half of season which left them third on the log.
