02 Jul Thank You Captain
Forest Rangers can confirm that skipper Laurent Muma has left the club to rejoin Power Dynamos following successful completion of negotiations between the two clubs.
Muma enjoyed a long association with Forest in two different spells.
The midfielder initially joined Forest from Napsa Stars in 2015 before Power signed him the following year.
He however returned to Ndola to rejoin Forest six months later.
The player established himself as a dependable player at the club in the last seven years and took over the captaincy in 2019 after Douglas Muwowo left the club.
Muma in his farewell message paid a glowing tribute to the club and everyone associated with the team.
“Special thanks to Forest Rangers Football Club, the executive, technical bench and the players. This team has made me who I am today.
Thank you for everything, I have learnt and shared a big part of my life with Forest but I think it’s time for me to face a new challenge,” Muma.
The attacking midfielder captained Forest to their first ABSA CUP, a second placed finish in 2019 in the Super League and subsequently helped the team qualify to their maiden CAF Champions League qualification in 2020.
“I will personally miss the team because I felt so at home and they treated me like a son and gave me so much respect.
“To the fans, thank you for your support, I really appreciate you. Every time I was down you used to boost me with your support. Without it, I would not be where I am today. Forest Rangers will always be my home and I would like to wish the team the best of luck going forward,” he said.
Forest chairman Ray Mumba has thanked Muma for his contribution to the club over the years.
“I would like to thank the captain for his long service and leadership to the club and wish him the very best as he starts his new journey,” he said.
Prior to moving to Forest, Muma had stints at Kalulushi Modern Stars and defunct Lime Hotspurs.
