Thank You Quadri Kola

Thank You Quadri Kola

THANK YOU QUADRI KOLA !

Last week we released a list of players that will not be with us next season and striker Quadri Kola was amongst them.

Kola separated with the club after his contract expired but the Nigerian will be moving with his head up looking at the milestones he achieved with us.

When Forest Rangers acquired the services of Quadri on deadline day, the move came as a shock to many, especially that he was leaving a team that usually competes in the CAF competitions.

The former Mbabane Swallows forward joined Forest from arch-rivals Zesco United on the 31st January 2020.

By moving to Forest, Kola made history by becoming the first player from Nigeria to wear the Forest shirt.

Like many players that switch from Zesco to Forest, Kola did not disappoint as he put in solid performances and helped the club make history on three occasions.

During his two-year stay at the club, Kola was instrumental in helping the then Tenant Chilumba coached side to finish second on the Super League table in 2019 for the first time.

That achievement meant that Forest secured a place in the CAF Champions League for the first time in the history of the club with of course Kola playing a huge role in the qualification.

Kola’s Forest lost 2-0 on aggregate to Gabonese side AS Bouenguidi in the CAF Champions League preliminary round after a barren first leg at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Kola featured in both matches.

The Nigerian was also part of the team that qualified for the ABSA Cup for the first time in the history of the club in 2021.

Apart from helping the team make history, Kola had some personal targets which he achieved.

Kola scored 16 goals across all competitions during his stay at the club with 10 goals coming during the 2020-2021 season and the other six last season (2021-2022).

He notched up eight assists during his time at the club.

Kola Quadri will be remembered for his hard work, commitment and love for the game. A player that always lifted the teams spirit on and off the pitch and gave his team mates and fans a great laugh every time he had the opportunity.

From us at Forest we can only say thank you Kola for being part of our history and we shall forever be indebted to you and your contribution to the team.

All the best in the Future Chairman!
