VAR TO BE USED IN THE ABSA CUP FINAL.

FAZ through the VAR project manager Janny Sikazwe have confirmed the use of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) tomorrow in the historic ABSA CUP Final.

The two teams had a briefing on the use of VAR, rules and expectations at the ABSA House this morning.

Mr Sikazwe said VAR will be used to ensure fairness in the beautiful game tomorrow.

“VAR will be used in the following scenarios
1) Goal checking
2) Direct Red Card
3) Mistaken Identity
4) Penalty

Players have been cautioned NOT TO INSTRUCT the referee to request for a VAR check, as this will be a bookable offense which can result in a red card eventually.

In addition, there will be more added time in each half to carter for the time taken by the VAR check” said Mr Sikazwe

Forest Rangers and FC MUZA are set to make their historic maiden appearance in an Absa Cup Final tomorrow and the event will be graced by His execellency, Mr Hakainde Hichilema at 15:00 hrs Woodlands Stadium.
